In the final part of our video series, learn about our vision for the future as we expand our efforts to rescue and distribute food across the province with the Perishable Food Rescue Center.

The future of food rescue in Atlantic Canada is being shaped right here at Greener Village. Our Perishable Food Rescue Center will be a 6,500-square-foot facility designed to handle and process perishable food donations, preventing waste and improving food quality for our clients.

In the final part of our THRIVE Campaign video series, learn about the innovative plans for this center, how it will transform food rescue, and the critical role it will play in supporting food banks across the province.

The Perishable Food Rescue Centre

What it is

The Perishable Food Rescue Center will be a 6,500-square-foot facility designed to handle and process perishable food donations, preventing waste and improving food quality for our clients.

Why it matters

This innovative center will enhance our ability to manage large donations – such as the 50,000-pound carrot donation once received by food banks in New Brunswick – and ensure that fresh food reaches those who need it most.

Timeline

We’re actively preparing the site. A new parking lot has been built to clear the existing lot to make way for groundbreaking.

Collaborations

We are partnering with Food Depot Alimentaire in Moncton and Food Banks Canada to extend the reach of the food resources generated by our centre across New Brunswick, and for this model to be replicated across the country.
