There is so much fresh food that comes into our warehouse, thanks to our partnerships with farmers, grocery stores and provincial food organizations. The equipment listed below helps us segregate and triage the food.
Once we assess the condition of the food, it is time to transform the food. This could mean peeling, dicing, blending and more. The possibilities are endless!
Once the food is prepped, it’s time to cook! We want to ensure we keep the food items fairly versatile to use. The food items could range from carrots, tomatoes, meats and more.
We don’t always receive food in small packages. Sometimes it is in 50 pound bags, unwashed. We want to ensure our community has equal access to fresh and fresh-frozen food. This involves breaking food items down to smaller packages that can be distributed across foodbanks in New Brunswick with provincial partnerships.
We are committed to make sure all the food is handled in accordance with Food Safety standards. One of the key parts of maintaining the standard is making sure the commercial kitchen is clean.
Learning is an integral part of this project. We want to ensure that our staff is trained and equipped to handle the growing needs of the organization.
